I bought a AS3810T laptop to run Linux and have Windows Vista run in KVM for those last 2 Windows programs I need Windows for.
I installed Fedora 11. After fiddling with the Ethernet (eth0) I finally got wired connection to work. Then when trying to use my Blackberry as a tether, I did something that caused the Ethernet port to quit working.
I've now spent many many many hours and multiple letters back in forth to Acer support to get Vista reloaded from the recovery discs I made.
No luck, Acer support doesn't know the answer. The repartioning I did to install Fedora is evidently unrecognizable to the Acer Vista recovery discs and I cannot reload Vista.
I'm terribly dissappointed with this computer and with Tech support at Acer.
This is probably the last Acer computer I will buy.
