0xc0190036 problem

Having some what of the same problem, during scan it freezes up and shows !!0xc0190036!! 5539/100345 (wmlaunch,exe) can't do anything. Don't have disk either. Everything was fine until I download SP1. Can anyone help.

When I had the problem, I booted using the install DVD and bypassed the automatic repair. opened the command prompt and found the offending file (in my case it was "regedit.exe"). I then renamed the file to *.old and rebooted. It worked just fine.
