Lumia 822 officially coming to Verizon, $99 with two year contract?
While AT&T seems to be the only carrier getting the flagship Nokia 920, Verizon is getting the Lumia 822 as an exclusive of their own. Unfortunately, it’s really hard to call this an exclusive when it is just a re-badged Lumia 820 but we’ll take what we can get.
The Lumia 822 features a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor, 1GB of RAM, microSD, 16GB internal memory, a 1.2MP front cam, an 8MP rear cam, and a 4.3-inch display with a resolution of 480 x 800. There is also 4G LTE packed in. In short, not a bad phone but nothing that will blow you away either.
Originally Nokia’s website listed the pricing as $99.99 with a two-year contract, but apparently they must have let the cat out of the bag early because the information has since been pulled. When can we expect the phone to hit? No clue. Hopefully we’ll know more after today.
Windows Phone 8 is almost here. With Microsoft Surface flying off the shelves and Windows 8 generating both buzz and true excitement, could Windows Phone 8 manage to do what Windows Phone 7 couldn’t? While Windows Phone 7 was a good OS, it never quite managed to intrigue and excite the general public in a meaningful way.
A switch to the NT Core and the arrival of Windows 8/RT might finally be what’s need to bring change to the Windows mobile world. What do you think, are you excited for the newest Windows Phone OS or will you stick with another platform for your smartphone needs?
