Here we go! Apple schedule event for October 4

Microsoft had a big bang for their buck last week with BUILD, now it's Apple's turn.

According to tech blog and Huff Post Tech partner All Things Digital, the iPhone 5 could be announced at an Apple event on October 4.

"Sources close to the situation" say that new CEO Tim Cook will give the keynote address at an event on October 4, which will be used to introduce the much-anticipated iPhone 5 to the world.

The release, according to those same anonymous sources, will come weeks later, presumably before the end of the month.

AllThingsD had previously reported that the iPhone 5 would definitely be released some time in October, though they had not given any specific time frames in previous reportage.

Apple, of course, has yet to confirm anything.
