:D I have to agree here. IE is a little embarrassing to Microsoft, although IE 9 is starting to look a little more promising with hardware acceleration.

Edit: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/internet-explorer/products/ie-9/features

Internet Explorer 9 Release Candidate is a very good browser, by Microsoft. It improves heavily on previous versions of IE - it is much more secure, much faster, looks nicer and is all around better.

For some reason I've never really liked Opera or Chrome that much. When I did switch from IE to FF for a while, it was mainly because of minor reasons. So far I like IE9 expect for a few small things

Interesting responses. Indeed IE has its issues, and as an IT Professional I know of many of its down falls. But as IE has its issues so do the other browsers as well, each browser from what I have seen has a use. For example FF is a good round about browser, with decent abilities all around. Chrome has its advantage on speed and slim structure. Opera has its advantage of being cozy and easy for non-technical users to use as a lot of its features are either automatic or geared towards a simpleton. Internet Explorer even has its advantages of being able to implement certain technologies better, while again lacking in a lot of other areas.

This finally brings me to another point, to each their own when it comes to software, what works for one may not be the best choice for another. Also the flaming comments are not in any way useful and reflect only childish nature. The gentelman above has his point to make and a view and in a way he is correct. Microsoft could indeed if it desired build a browser that far exceeds any other but what is the point? they offer this software for free to all users, there fore it is of little to no incentive to place more then what is required into the browser. If they wanted to charge for the product then maybe they would indeed focus greater time and man power to this but with as many other browsers are out there for free this would be an unwisee move business wise.

So when you think of these features you want built into IE remember you get what you get and you get it for free, so either be happy with what is given to you or find another product that better suits your desires and needs.

idiots abound, about 6 billion of them it seems

opera is a disaster but who gives a rip?

and besides how savvy are you
to even know a good browser from a bad one

compared to what? a desktop application?

yes then all browsers are bad.

sounds like you like to complain rather
than do anything useful for society
or say anything positive about what you
already have?

lazy thinking on your part is really the issue here.
is this how you get through your days?

and instead of worrying about a browser all your life,
you should be more concerned with the sites you visit
ins't that really the problem with the internet?

when you come up with something better than microsoft
then you can criticise, until then, shut it
and quit wasting bandwidth with your whining...

Internet Explorer 9 seems to be coming out now and I read it received a much better score than ie8. I would still like to see an option to choose what browser you want. Like:
